After a hiatus during the pandemic, Affordable Art Fair Singapore returns this year between 18 to 20 November 2022 at the F1 Pit Building. With 80 local and international galleries participating, this year’s showcase features artworks from over 550 emerging and established artists. Be it contemporary oil paintings to life-size sculptures or even photography and limited-edition prints, visitors to the Fair will be spoilt for choice.

Those just starting out in their art-collecting journey will be pleased to know that the Fair has kept the price ceiling of artworks under S$15,000. About 75 per cent of all the works are less than S$7,500, while a selected few are priced below S$1,000.

Being the first international art fair to return to the city-state, Affordable Art Fair Singapore signals the reawakening of the arts community. More than just an art fair where galleries and artists showcase their proudest works, the Fair intends to support the local art scene by building new audiences and becoming the conduit between art collectors and the various galleries.

Speaking more about Affordable Art Fair Singapore, Fair Director Alan Koh said, “After a three-year break, we are delighted to bring the Fair back to our art-loving audience in Singapore. Galleries near and far have been supportive and excited with the reopening of Singapore from the pandemic, and we are ready to help thousands of artworks find happy homes.”

For seasoned art collectors, they can look forward to seeing works from veteran exhibitors like Utterly Art and REDSEA Gallery from Singapore; Quantum Contemporary Art from London, a longtime supporter of the Fair since its inception in 2010; and Art Forum, Singapore’s oldest and most established gallery.

In addition, notable artists showing their artwork include American contemporary artist Shepard Fairey’s limited-edition silkscreen and screen prints; Beijing artist Wanlin Jing’s denim pieces; and Cheo Chai Hiang, a pioneering Singaporean artist who popularised interactive art in the country during the 80s and 90s.

Apart from the General Entry for visitors to browse the collections, this year’s edition also features new programmes like the Art Day Out where families can attend workshops, go on guided tours and even grab a bite or drink at the Gastropark. Furthermore, on 18 November 2022, visitors can look forward to unwinding after a long week at the Arty-Licious Evening where there will be music and art-centric activities to welcome the weekend.
